Duck Duck Moose was founded by three friends who share a passion for children, music, education, design, and play. We have created three top-selling iPhone apps: Wheels on the Bus, Old MacDonald, and Itsy Bitsy Spider. All three apps have made it into the Top 100 List overall in the App Store, and each has been either the #1 Educational app or the #1 Kids Game in iTunes. Wheels on the Bus was selected as an iTunes Staff Favorite and was featured as one of The New York Times’ “Best iPhone Apps for Kids.” Old MacDonald and Wheels on the Bus both won the Children’s Technology Review Editor’s Choice Award for Excellence in Design.

Wheels on the Bus was the #1 or #2 Educational app from February-August 2009 and was selected as an iTunes Staff Favorite. It was featured as one of The New York Times’ “Best iPhone Apps for Kids” and the Discovery Channel’s “10 Great iPhone Apps.”

Nicci is an award-winning designer with over 10 years of diverse experience in the design field. Nicci has a B.S. in Biology cum laude from The George Washington University and a Masters in Design from the School of Visual Arts in NYC where she studied under designers such as Milton Glaser, Paula Scher, Stefan Sagmeister and Steven Heller. Nicci has worked on projects for The Art Center College of Design, M&Co, ID Magazine, Microsoft, and Seagate among others. Prior to Duck Duck Moose, she was the Creative Lead at Sharpcast where she designed the SugarSync desktop, mobile and web applications and managed a team of designers and contractors.

When she is not working she spends her time defending the world against hostile alien take-overs, knitting sweaters for her cats and dreaming of starting a band (although she doesn’t sing and plays nothing).

Caroline is a product manager with a background in design and business. She holds an AB in Architecture summa cum laude from Princeton University, attended the Master in Architecture program at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, and received an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Prior to Duck Duck Moose, Caroline worked as a design consultant at IDEO, and as a product manager of Quicken and QuickBooks software at Intuit. She has played the violin since she was five. She just started yoga, and lately spends a lot of time playing on the floor with her one-year-old and three-year-old daughters.

Michael is a software architect and serial entrepreneur. He holds an AB in Computer Science cum laude from Harvard University. During the last 20 years, he has worked at several Silicon Valley startups, including Siebel Systems, Gain Technology, Sharpcast, SkyData, and C3.

Michael’s passion in college was computer graphics and animation, and he is thrilled to be doing some of this again at Duck Duck Moose. He has played the cello since he was seven, and currently performs with the Saint Michael Trio. He takes his daughters to at least one farmers market every week.

Our apps are created with help from many friends. We produced all the music, illustrations and interactions ourselves and user tested them with help from our friends and their children. Our Product Manager, Caitlyn, is a very precocious three year old!
